About the Event

Mary is a local bird enthusiast and enjoys sharing the joy birds can bring to your life. Bring your curiosity and let's see what we can discover about our local birds as we walk the varied habitats of the Tall Timber valley between the Napeequa and White River confluence.  We will stroll through meadows, forests and wetlands exploring the riparian habitat and learning the art of identifying birds.  Before this walk, spend some time thinking about a bird you know, such as a robin or a crow. Ask yourself the following questions:  What size and shape (silhouette) does it have? What do its calls or songs sound like? What do you usually see that particular bird do? Where do you typically see them? What time(s) of year do you see them?   What to bring? Binoculars (if you have them) Small Notebook & Pen/Pencil Proper dress for the weather, layers are always wise. Sunglasses, sunscreen, mosquito spray, a hat Snacks & Water Hiking Boots or shoes suitable for varied surfaces Hiking Poles (optional)
