Good morning skiers! Conditions don't get much better than the skiing we have right now!
We have a trace of new snow (1/2") and 23 degrees at 10 AM. Overnight low was 19 and yesterday's high was 24. It is currently overcast.
Trails were groomed for skate this morning finishing around 7:30 am. Classic was left from yesterday.
The platform for skate is firm and skiiing very well. Classic is in great shape. Coverage is great in all areas including driveway crossings. The highway crossing has exposed blacktop so you will have to take off skis for this crosssing.
A new small practice area has been developed just off the Plain Trailhead parking lot. It has both skate and classic grooming.
The Playground and Skiercross Drops are now groomed. They are a great place for kids to play. We will add some features as time allows. These are located in the Sprint Loop area.
Snowshoe trails are now packed out, except the route to Mt. Springs where we are looking at a significant route change.
Trail passes are required for both ski and snowshoe trails. You can purchase online at www.skiplain.com or in person at Plain Hardware. XC ski and snowshoe rentals are avaliable at Plain Hardware.
