Tour de Plain FINAL (3).jpg

Plain Valley Ski Trails is presenting it's inaugural Tour de Plain, a 4-stage points race series.

The series will offer different courses for both beginners and for those after some speed.

Racers’ standings from individual races are tallied up after all stages and the final rankings of the season are assigned based on each skier's two best races. The races are as follows:

Sun, 14 Feb – 12.5km skate  Course Map      Registration

Sat, 20 Feb –  9 km skate  Course Map      Registration

Sat, 27 Feb – ~22km skate  Course Map    Registration

Sat, Mar 6 – 6km skate  Course Map     Registration

Race #1: 12.5km SKATE

The race starts from Clear Creek Lodge, goes through Swamp Creek Loop to the Stonewater Loop, and heads back to the Clear Creek Lodge.

Race #2: 9.0 km SKATE

The course combines the Sprint Loop with the Meadow Loop to create a 4.5km loop that you will ski twice.

QR code checkpoints will be at Start, Lap, and Finish.

Race #3: 22.0 km SKATE

The course follows the main section of the trail system, the Beaver Creek Trail, from start on the meadow by Plain Hardware, to the other end of the trail system at Clear Creek Lodge, and back to the finish.

Race #4: 6.0 km SKATE

Just like the FIS World Cup Tour de Ski race series, this race will end with a hill climb to the summit of Alpe di Pierre (aka Grizzly Mountain). The course will start from the Clear Creek Trailhead, loop back at Swamp Creek, and then end at the summit of

Alpe di Pierre.

The course is marked and most of it has two-way traffic, so we ask participants to keep to the right side whenever not alone on the course.

Registration: $10 (Note: trail passes are required and can be purchased here.)

PVST is a 501c3 non-profit and funds raised go to the youth ski team to help with summer camp expenses.

Timing will be managed by each racer’s smart phone with Webscorer Race Timer app scanning QR codes at start, finish, and  points along the course.

The QR codes are marked visibly and scanning can be done without internet connection; if a racer’s phone has connection, all times upload automatically.

The course will be open from 9 AM - 5 PM.

COVID-19 accommodations

For safety reasons, there will be no mass start and racers can choose their own start time during the day.
