About the Event

Amy has been in the Upper Wenatchee Valley for 22 years. Her interest in gardening started when she was a child and got renewed when she lived and worked on the Gibbs Organic Farm in 1999. She's been gardening, for her family and professionally ever since. She has always felt a drive to be self-sufficient. Her family has a micro farm including: dual purpose goats, chickens, honeybees, fruit trees/bushes, and an herb and vegetable garden.  Composting Amy will be sharing with us the basics of beginning to compost!  We will be working together at The Pantry here in Plain.  The Pantry serves our community by providing healthy food and needed resources to our neighbors.  This spring they have begun a community garden as well!  We will be helping to begin their compost:)  This will give us a perfect opportunity to learn how to create our own compost meanwhile providing a service that will benefit many in our Plain community.    What to bring? Gardening gloves Small Notebook & Pen/Pencil Clothes that can get dirty; proper dress for the weather, layers are always wise. Sunglasses, sunscreen, mosquito spray, a hat Snacks & Water Shoes suitable for varied surfaces
