About the Event
Come out for a walk in the woods with Lyndsay Mynatt, local mushroom enthusiast and Mother Earth News blogger. Lyndsay will teach the basics of safe mushroom hunting and help categorize a few edible classic like Chanterelles, Boletes and more! This class is geared toward beginners and will include: overview of wild mushroom safety, identification, harvesting technique and tips for cooking. There are thousands of mushroom varieties, but we will only focus on a few as hunting mushrooms can be a lot of truffle. Â Mushroom guidebooks will be provided, but please bring your own if you have one.Â
Other items to bring: journal/sketch paper, pencil, knife, a small basket and a sense of adventure. Â
What to Bring? Please come prepared with: hiking shoes, a rain jacket, warm layers, lunch/snacks and water for the outing.
Drop in: $50
**Drop-In Registration is limited based on PVAW Summer Registrants' ability to attend events. Drop-In registration opens one week prior to events.
