Thank you to all the coaches and volunteers that made yesterday's Washington Nordic Cup Race a huge success!! It takes a community to make something like this happen, so thank you again.
Cold temps last night around 10 degrees prepare us for another sunny day with gorgeous trails thata are begging to be skied. We've groomed with our all too familiar pattern now of the SnoCat being in the Meadow Loop area, grooming fresh skate and classic on Meadow Loop and the Beaver Creek Trail out to Mountain Springs Lodge and slowly transitioning the race course in the Sprint Loop back to the normal Sprint Loop. The Ginzu's are taking care of the rest of the trail system laying fresh skate on the rest of the open trails all the up to the Clear Creek Turnaround.
We are amazed that the trails are holding up as well as they are with the main concerns being Hot Tub Hill, the cutoff there to Rowdy Coyote and the Hitching Post area. We are hearing whisperings of some precipitation in the forecast for this coming weekend, so stay tuned...
(Cougar Run, Chainsaw Ridge and Lumi Lane are still closed until we get more snow.)
Parking lots are very icy and micro spikes are highly recommended, walk with care.
