Today is our last day... 3/17/2025

Happy St. Patricks Day!!  It comes with great sadness that we have to finally concede and say that today will be the last day of grooming for the season.  The areas that had little snow bridges to get through, have now melted and there there are more areas of dirt and grass showing.  It's been a great season considering the low amount of snow that we received this winter.

Temperatures did get down just below freezing, but are expected to jump back up into the 40's under sunny skies today, so it is a great last day to get out and enjoy this treasure that we have in the Plain Valley.

The Ginzu was out last night setting fresh skate and classic where possible.  By far the best conditions are south of Swamp Creek Loop after you get through the trees all the way to Stonewater Loop.  If all of the trails looked like that, we could stay open much longer.  It's worth having to take skis off a few times to get down to that area.  Trails didn't groom out as smoothly in the 1000 trails area and because of the melt out, the BCT loops around the basketball court instead of going all the way out to the Clear Creek Turnaround.  It also is melted out where it crosses the Clear Creek Loop, so use that Loop as an alternative.  The large melt out in the trees before the road crossing is getting larger and the two driveways just south of the road crossing are completely melted out.  Also be aware of the coyote that has been hanging out on the north end of Swamp Creek Loop that doesn't seem to be afraid of skiers.

Day passes are discounted to $15 online (CLICK HERE to purchase) or in person at Plain Hardware and the Osprey Lodge Trailhead at 1000 Trails is the access point.  Use caution in the parking lot that is icy and micro spikes are recommended.

Thank you for skiing our trails and giving us a reason to get permission from all of these land owners to allow us to use their property for this amazing trail system.  It is truly a community effort that makes all of this happen.
