Groomer’s Report - Sunday, 1/1/23

Writer: trailsmanagertrailsmanager

Good morning uphill skiers! Feeling a bit foggy today after ringing in the new year? Then we have the weather to match this morning! It is currently 19 degrees at 8 AM. The overnight low was 17 and yesterday's high was 40. We currently have fog (but some blue showing) and no new snow. The trails are grooming out very well this morning with the further consolidation of the 8" we received in the last storm. The skiing in the open meadows will be outstanding. Under the trees will be more firm and faster. Fresh skate on most trails, some fresh classic as needed. Detailed grooming report is here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12qPI6gVls_IVXpmBIVq0oKy1_Fk2NDnM6K-DNOzD_iw/edit

Today's photo is of Plain Hardware barista and Plain Valley Nordic Team athlete Wren (middle). She and her teammates just finished racing in Winthrop yesterday at the Rodeo, with a first place in the relay!

Snowshoe trails are open and parking lots are plowed.

Trail passes are avaliable at www.skiplain.com or in person at Plain Hardware.

Have fun out there today!

Rob D, Jason, and Gus, today's groomers.
