Grooming Report... 12/28/2025
No new snow last night, but temperatures did get down to right around 20 degrees and the forecast for today is for mostly sunny skies and for it to remain just below freezing, which will be good for the trails as we are still in early season conditions and still need the ground to freeze. The good news for today is that we have worked our best to get ALL 3 TRAILHEADS OPEN to expand your ski experience. We still have low snow in areas through the trees along with uneven tra

UPDATE: There is a DOT sign on the Chumstick Hwy that says, "No Ski Access", but that is referring to Stevens Pass and there is access to the Plain Valley Ski Trails. We are in communication with the DOT to get the sign updated, so we do have trails open and please come and ski them! We ended up getting 5-6" of fresh snow yesterday and temperatures finally got down into the mid-20's which is great for the trails. It was a very light and airy snow, the type that could be c

Grooming Report... 12/26/2025
It's the day after our White Christmas and we are counting down the days to the New Year which will hopefully bring us new weather. We received roughly 2" of wet snow yesterday and the temperatures have been hovering right around freezing since then, so grooming with the Ginzu's happened last night freshening up the skate and also adding fresh classic to the Meadow Loop, Meadow Loop Cut-Offs and the Beaver Creek Trail out to the turnaround at Mountain Springs Lodge which a

It is currently snowing and temperatures last night hovered right around freezing. On the 4th Day of ski-mas my true love gave to me.... over.... an... inch... of... new... snow! Temperatures last night hovered right around freezing, so the snow is a bit sticky and wet as it continues to lightly fall. Ginzu's were out setting fresh skate this morning on the Meadow Loop, Meadow Loop Cut-Offs and the Beaver Creek Trail just out to the turnaround at Mountain Springs Lodge, leaving the snow in the classic tracks to be skied in by the first couple of skiers t

Grooming Report... 12/23/2025
It's Day 3 of being able to offer up some of the only skiing around and with temperatures last night dropping just below freezing as we got another little dusting of snow, the groomer's have done their best to work it into our open trails and keep them alive a bit longer. Overall the base is getting thin and uneven in spots, but amazingly, there is still some really good skiing out there for you. The forecast is calling for some patchy fog this morning and partly cloudy la

Day 2 of cross country ski-mas... It was so good to see some of you out on the trails yesterday and even to have a few of our amazing Trail Ambassadors out to greet skiers at the trailhead. It did get down to below freezing last night to go with just a dusting of new snow, so hopefully that will allow the trails to be a bit firmer this morning as we groomed with the Ginzu's late last night. We will again have just the Meadow Loop and Walk In Trailheads open which will be

We know that this hasn't been our typical winter and now that we finally have some snow on the ground, many people are itching to get out and ski, so today , we are offering a "Soft Opening" at the Meadow Loop Trailhead! We have the Meadow Loop, Meadow Loop Cut-Off and the Beaver Creek Trail just out to the turnaround at Mountain Springs Lodge groomed for both skate and classic. We aren't going to pretend that it's perfect conditions, we are still needing colder temperatures

Trail Update... 12/19/2025
It is so refreshing to finally see some snow on the ground again and it renews our excitement to get our trails open for all of you. While the trails are still currently CLOSED , we did get 4-5" of new snow and we were out this morning evaluating the system to see if there were any new issues that need to be addressed. We did find a new tree that had come down and the rain and flooding has made a couple of our bridges currently unpassable until water levels recede, so we ar

Trail Update... 12/15/2025
It has been a challenging week for the Pacific Northwest and our thoughts go out to everyone that is dealing with the aftermath of this record setting flooding and high winds. Highway 2 over Steven's Pass is going to be closed for the foreseeable future due to rocks, trees and mud over the roadway in multiple locations and while the rivers and creeks have been receding, we are due for another couple of days of rain and possible high winds this week. The good news is that it

Trail Update... 12/9/2025
Well, what to say.... Trails are still currently CLOSED and according to the Weather Service, we just got through the 1st stage of an Atmospheric River, which a "is a long plume of deep moisture in the atmosphere that often extends for thousands of miles and can produce heavy rain." This particular river has been rated a level 4 of 5, according to the Center for Western Weather and Water Extremes, which is good overall because we have been in a drought, but we would still

Rainy Trail Report... 12/6/2025
Trails are still currently CLOSED as we look out the window and watch the rain. It's hard not to think about how much snow we would be getting if it was just a little bit colder, but we'll continue to be optimistic and say that it's only the beginning of December and we still have plenty of time to get snow and have a full ski season. Tonight is our Annual PVNT Dinner and Auction at Mountain Springs Lodge and it will be an evening supporting and celebrating our youth and it

Trail Update... 12/3/2025
Good Morning everyone, our trails are still currently closed as we wait patiently for the weather to turn in our favor and there is a good chance for this weekend. A large storm front is going to be pushing through bringing a lot of precipitation and if the temperatures drop, it could be the snow that we need to get the trails up and running! Until then, there are still a few seats available for our Annual PVNT Dinner and Auction this Saturday, December 6, 6-8 PM at Mountai
