Support PVNT’s 2026 Junior National Skiers! This year, 8 PVNT skiers have qualified to join the Pacific Northwest division team traveling to Cable, WI to compete in the 2026 Cross Country Junior National Championship races March 9-13th! To support their journey, we are launching a Fundraiser, running until March 1. More information can be found HERE.
Ginzu's were out last night setting fresh skate on all of our open trails and laying another set of classic tracks on the opposite side of the trail on most of the BCT with pretty good results. Temperatures stayed in the high 30's overnight and will jump up to the 40's again under partly cloudy skies, so best time to ski is first thing this morning as they will quickly soften up.
The best skiing is going to remain on the BCT from the northern terminus to the Campground Loop and if you are willing to adventure across the road crossing, south of Swamp Creek Loop down to the turnaround before the creek at Stonewater Loop also is holding up nicely. With the warm temps, snow is melting and trails are getting darker as the ground underneath is starting to show through. The winds have caused debris to fall onto the trails in the trees and there are icy spots in the tree wells. We will continue to do our best to groom what we have left and try to shovel snow to keep the ribbon connectors skiable.
OPEN TRAILS: Everything north of the creek crossing at Stonewater Loop, except the southern side of Grizzly Mtn.
CAUTION AREAS: Heading south on the BCT just past the Grizzly Mtn. junction down to Swamp Creek includes a narrow ribbon of snow through the trees, a 2 foot wide melt out that has 2 PVC pipes to help fill the gap and just after the road crossing are 2 driveways that will most likely be bare as the day warms up. Swamp Creek Loop is a bit rough in spots showing some bare spots and Grizzly Mtn is now a 2 way trail with a couple of narrow and exposed areas. There are also a few thin and icy spots in the trees to be aware of.
PARKING LOTS: The OSPREY LODGE TRAILHEAD at the main entrance of Thousand Trails is our last remaining open parking lot for the trails. The PVNT carnival will be there from 3pm-6pm, so parking will be limited and it will be best to plan accordingly.
TRAIL DAY PASSES ARE DISCOUNTED TO $15 and can be purchased HERE, and as always, kids ski free, but they also need an online PASS.
