Support PVNT’s 2026 Junior National Skiers! This year, 8 PVNT skiers have qualified to join the Pacific Northwest division team traveling to Cable, WI to compete in the 2026 Cross Country Junior National Championship races March 9-13th! To support their journey, we are launching a Fundraiser, running until March 1. More information can be found HERE.
It's going to continue to be Spring-like conditions out on the trails today as temperatures last night only got down to the high 30's and they are projected to jump back up to the high 40's again. The corduroy made by the Ginzu's last night turned out nicely in most areas because of the soft conditions and new classic was set in between the trailhead and the northern terminus. The best skiing is going to be on the BCT from the northern terminus down to the Campground Loop. The warm temps, in addition to the wind are rapidly melting the snow and trails are getting dirtier with more bare spots starting to poke through along with debris littering the trails in the trees. We will continue to do our best to groom what we have left and the next areas that we will lose are going to be the rest of Grizzly Mtn. and the trails south of the road crossing, but we feel pretty confident that those areas will make it at least through the weekend.
OPEN TRAILS: Everything north of the creek crossing at Stonewater Loop, except the southern side of Grizzly Mtn.
CAUTION AREAS: Heading south on the BCT just past the Grizzly Mtn. junction down to Swamp Creek includes a very narrow ribbon of snow through the trees, a 2 foot wide melt out that has 2 PVC pipes to help fill the gap. If you are going to go across the road, you might as well walk down Fish Pond Lane and hop back on the trail at the 2nd driveway crossing as we are losing coverage in between. Swamp Creek Loop, Beaver Creek Loop and the BCT down to the bridge are all getting thinner and showing more bare spots, along with icy spots in the trees. Grizzly Mtn is now a 2 way trail with a couple of narrow and exposed areas.
PARKING LOTS: The OSPREY LODGE TRAILHEAD at the main entrance of Thousand Trails is our last remaining open parking lot for the trails.
