Grooming Report... 2/3/2026

Cheers to all of you brave souls that made it out in the rain yesterday to leave fresh tracks and gave us a reason to groom! Most of the trails are still holding up better than expected, although they have absorbed a lot of moisture over the last couple of days and there are a few sections that are starting to create puddles, so keep an eye out for them. Temperatures stayed just above freezing last night, so the earlier, the better to get the best conditions before it warms up to around 40 again as the fog clears up.

Ginzu's were out last night grooming fresh skate on the Meadow Loop, the BCT out to the northern terminus, Beaver Creek Loop and Swamp Creek Loop, as the classic was holding up from yesterday. You will still find a mix of nice trails in most of the open meadows and thin/narrow/uneven trails as you head into any of trails in the trees.

CAUTION AREAS: The south side of Hot Tub Hill is almost completely bare now, so walking up or around the lodge (see the posted map) are the best options. The Hitching Post area is getting thin and narrow, but is still passable and unfortunately we are probably going to lose the section from Mountain Springs to Stonewater if the warms temps continue through the week. The Walk-In Trailhead bare spot is now trail wide and skiing through the stadium to the far entrance of the Meadow Loop is an option. We are still using the Stonewater detour to their walking bridge, so be sure to follow the signs if you are trying to ski the BCT through that area. Grizzly Mtn also has a trail wide melt out on the ascent up and the pond at the road crossing is getting bigger.

CLOSED TRAILS now include Sprint Loop and all of the Mill Hill Complex (Mill Hill, Rowdy Coyote, Chainsaw Ridge, Cougar Run and Lumi Lane) due to exposed ground and melt outs. Signs are posted.

All wheel drive is recommended in all of the parking lots as they are all holding up, but you will find some mud and puddles as the day goes on, so please use caution when walking to the the trails.

You can get a head start and sign up for one of our Saturday Clinics. They are great for all ages and can be customized for skate or classic. It's a great way to learn better technique and the ability to enjoy our sport even more. Information and sign up can be found HERE.

TRAIL PASSES ARE ALL ONLINE and can be purchased HERE, and as always, kids ski free, but they also need an online PASS.

Thanks for the great grooming!!! Wife and I were skate skiing in yesterday's rain on the south half of the Beaver Creek trail and the meadows and thought the trail was pretty decent. Today we started at the mid-point and went to the northern terminus and the grooming was really nice- much better than expected! So thanks for all your great work!!!
