Grooming Report... 2/4/2026

It definitely feels like Spring out there and the trails are continuing to show it. Overall, there is still good skiing, thank you for all the positive feedback as we try to continue squeezing every last drop of lemonade out of this lemon of a winter so far. Temperatures last night stayed just above freezing again and the forecast is for some patchy fog clearing up to possibly some sunshine today, so the best time to ski is going to be first thing in the morning.

Ginzu's were used last night grooming fresh skate and classic on the Meadow Loop, the Cut-Off's and the BCT out to Mountain Springs Lodge. The rest of the BCT, along with the lower Stonewater Loop, the Beaver Creek Loop and Swamp Creek Loop all got just just the skate lane groomed, as the classic was holding up.  You will still find a mix of nice trails in most of the open meadows and thin/narrow/uneven trails as you head into any of trails in the trees.

CAUTION AREAS: The south side of Hot Tub Hill is almost completely bare now, so walking up or around the lodge (see the posted map) are the best options. The Hitching Post area is getting thin and narrow, but is still passable and unfortunately we are probably going to lose the section from Mountain Springs to Stonewater if the warms temps continue through the week. The Walk-In Trailhead bare spot is now trail wide and skiing through the stadium to the far entrance of the Meadow Loop is an option. We are still using the Stonewater detour to their walking bridge, so be sure to follow the signs if you are trying to ski the BCT through that area. Grizzly Mtn also has a trail wide melt out on the ascent up and the pond at the road crossing is getting bigger.

CLOSED TRAILS now include Sprint Loop and all of the Mill Hill Complex (Mill Hill, Rowdy Coyote, Chainsaw Ridge, Cougar Run and Lumi Lane) due to exposed ground and melt outs. Signs are posted.

PARKING LOTS: The Meadow Loop and Beaver Creek Parking Lots are struggling right now and have areas that are very soft and muddy. So all wheel drive is recommended and please do your best to park on firmer ground. The Osprey Lodge Parking Lot is holding up the best as it is an actual gravel parking lot.

You can get a head start and sign up for one of our Saturday Clinics. They are great for all ages and can be customized for skate or classic. It's a great way to learn better technique and the ability to enjoy our sport even more. Information and sign up can be found HERE.

TRAIL PASSES ARE ALL ONLINE and can be purchased HERE, and as always, kids ski free, but they also need an online PASS.
