Groomer's Report - 12/24/23

Merry Christmas Eve skiers! Today we we have fresh skate grooming on all trails, including Mill Hill and Grizzly Mountain. Classic was left from yesterday and is in fair shape. It is currently 16 degrees at 8:30 AM. The low was 14 and yesterday's high was 39 (however, the trails stayed frozen all day). Should be hard and fast skating and fast classic tracks. It is currently mostly clear and no new snow overnight.

I've set up a new Strava segment for the Meadow Loop (counter clockwise) so see if you can bump me out of the top spot or set a CR for your age/sex category!

While most trails have great coverage, we do have low snow conditions so ski with caution. Of note, Hot Tub Hill has limited coverage and should be walked (60') and the Hitching Post section (20 yards) is thin but skiable. Most crossings (horse sleigh, snowmobile and driveways) are thin with some dirt exposed so exercise caution. Today's picture is at the Clear Creek Trailhead (Thousand Trails). The best snow and trail conditions can be found north of Mt. Springs. Santa is bringing some snow for Christmas!

Trail passes are required and can be purchased at Plain Hardware www.plainhardware.com or online at www.skiplain.com. Trails will be open on the 25th and a pass will be required. Plan ahead and buy a pass today!

Today's groomers were Rob D and Jason B.

Have fun out there!
