Groomer’s Report - Monday 2/13/23

Good morning skiers! Today we have sunshine and 34 degrees at 10 AM. We have a trace of new. The overnight low was 32 and yesterday's high was 40. We have just finished re-grooming (with the ATV/Ginzu combo) Meadow Loop, Sprint Loop, and the BCT between Plain and Mt. Springs Lodge for skate, as shown in today's picture. The Ginzu was used as it doesn't damage the frozen platform so it is ready to ski immediately. Platform is solid and it will be great skating. Classic is left from yesterday. The balance of the trails were groomed last night before the snowfall and will have a trace of new on a very firm platform.

Snowshoe trails are open and lots are plowed. Trail passes are required and can be purchased online at www.skiplain.com or in person at Plain Hardware. Plain Hardware also offers XC ski and snowshoe rentals, and is a full service XC shop with skis, boots, poles, gloves, and wax. More info can be found at www.plainhardware.com.

WARNING - PARKING LOTS CONTINUE TO BE ICY SO PLEASE USE CAUTION WHEN ON FOOT.

The Plain Valley Nordic Team will be racing at the last Junior Nordic Qualifier of the season this coming weekend at Mt. Spokane, after which the US Junior National Team representing the Pacific Northwest will be named and invited to race at US Junior Nationals, held this year in Fairbanks, Alaska, March 13 - 16. Skiers earn points at each qualifying race, and only the top skiers will be named to the team. More info on US Junior Nationals can be found here: https://jn2023fairbanks.org

Have a great day out there!

Jason, Josiah, and myself, today's groomers.
