Groomer’s Report - Saturday 12/30/23

Good morning skiers! We have groomed fresh classic (most trails) and fresh skate on all trails overnight. We started early before temps dropped below freezing. We used the Ginzu as the snow depth is not enough to run the PB100 snowcat. Trails will be firm and fast today, both skate and classic. We have added snow to the entrance and exit of Rowdy Coyote so they are now in good shape. The top loop of Mill Hill has some dirt at the loop intersection that you can work around and the balance has great coverage. All trails are open except the top of Chainsaw Ridge and a section of Cougar Run. Today's picture is from Fishpond Flats north of the Beaver Creek Trailhead. It was 31 degrees this morning at 8:30 AM, low of 29, and high of 36 yesterday.

The best skiing will be this morning while things are firm and frozen. The best snow and conditions are north of Mt. Springs Lodge, best accessed from Beaver Creek Trailhead or Clear Creek Trailhead. Low snow conditions exist in a few spots so ski with caution.

Trail passes are required and can be purchased at Plain Hardware www.plainhardware.com or online at www.SkiPlain.com.

XC ski and snowshoe rentals are available at Plain Hardware.

They also offer hot waxing and a full line XC retail shop. Great espresso too!

Grooming today by Jason.

Have fun out there!
