Groomer’s Report - Sunday, January 14, 2024

Good morning skiers! The sun is rising over the Plain valley and it's going to be a beautiful day for skiing! Nearly all trails have fresh skate and classic grooming today and conditions are amazing! We currently have sunshine, -11 degrees at 9 AM, and the forecast says a high of 12. With the cold snow skating is a bit slow so groomer's choice again is classic. My skin skis have been working great with these conditions. Demo a pair at Plain Hardware! All trails today groomed with the PB-100 snowcat.

A week from today we will have a youth race called the Washington Nordic Cup. This will be the third race of the series. The kids accumulate points over the course of the season and then get awards in March based on how they finished overall. More info at www.wncup.org. We need volunteers so please email info@skiplain.com if you are interested. On race day the Sprint Loop will be closed to the public. The race course is established if you want to ski it! I've posted on Strava what the course looks like. It will be a classic race so you will see extra tracks set, wider trails, and a new loop at the top of Sprint Loop. Come out and cheer on the kids if you want!

Trail passes are required and can be purchased at Plain Hardware www.plainhardware.com or you can buy online at www.SkiPlain.com. Please make sure your passes are showing or you have you phone handy to show your pass if you purchased online.

Today's groomer was Rob Dilling.

Have fun out there!
