Groomer’s Report - Tuesday 2/21/23

Writer: trailsmanagertrailsmanager

Good morning skiers! We have survived the warm weekend and temps are back to freezing! This morning we have groomed fresh skate and classic on Meadow Loop, Sprint Loop, and the BCT between Plain and Mt. Springs. To the north of Mt. Springs, its a bit rough at the Hitching Post, but if you suffer through that 80 yards you will find good skiing north of the Coral. Fresh skate and classic. We did have some fresh snow overnight and it is currently snowing lightly at times with some filtered sunshine as well! It is currently 35 degrees. The low was 32, and yesterday's high was 47. Today's picture was taken from the trails just to the south of Mt. Springs Lodge. The coyote activity in the Meadow Loop area is quite heavy and their tracks are frequently on the groomed trails as they hunt for mice, domestic pets, and farm animals.

Snowshoe trails are open and lots are plowed. WARNING - LOTS CAN BE ICY SO USE EXTRA CARE WHEN WALKING IN YOUR SKI BOOTS.

Trail passes are required and can be purchased online at www.skiplain.com or in person at Plain Hardware. Plain Hardware also offers XC ski and snowshoe rentals, and a full line XC gear shop. Www.plainhardware.com

Jason, Caleb, and myself, today's groomers.

Have fun out there - skate is my recommended choice today!
