Grooming Report... 1/11/2026

Thank you to everyone that came out to our Full Moon Community Ski last night hosted by our amazing Plain Valley Adventure Women. It was a really fun event and we are already looking forward to next year!

Temperatures last night stayed right around freezing, so grooming happened late last night giving the trails plenty of time to set up and the forecast for today is a chance of showers with temperatures jumping up to 40 degrees. Skiing today should be continue to be great, especially in the open meadows where the trails have been holding up nicely for the amount of snow that we've had so far. It looks like we've got some warm days coming for the next week, so it will be interesting to see how the trails hold up.

The SnoCat was out and made it all the way up to the Swamp Creek Loop setting fresh skate and classic on it's way up and back down the valley including most of the BCT, Stonewater Loop, Meadow Loop, the Cut offs, Mill Hill and just skate on the Sprint Loop. With the warm temps coming, it was possibly the last chance to get the SnoCat up valley in the near future, so it was a trade off of going through the thin spots in the trees to make it all the way out to Swamp Creek, so the trails in those areas are still very thin and uneven in places,  so use caution on those sections of the BCT around the hitching post, between Mountain Springs Lodge and Stonewater Loop, and between the Beaver Creek Loop out to the Swamp Creek Loop. Enjoy the open meadows though. A Ginzu was used on Rowdy Coyote and was setting fresh skate and some classic across the road in the 1000 Trails section along with good results also. Chainsaw Ridge, Lumi Lane and Cougar Run were all left from yesterday having some thin, uneven spots, but are still able to be skied.

Parking lots are all holding up nicely, but could be very compact and slick in spots, so use caution when walking to the trails.

Don't forget about our Saturday Clinics 10am - 12pm, which are great for all ages and can be customized for skate or classic. It's a great way to learn better technique and the ablilty to enjoy our sport even more. Information and sign up can be found HERE.
