Grooming Report... 1/15/2026

There will be a brief closure of the BCT this afternoon at Mountain Springs Lodge from 3:20pm - 4:20pm due to a wedding ceremony. Signs will be posted closing the trail and suggesting the Rowdy Coyote detour.

Temperatures last night did drop down to just below freezing and the forecast is for it to be partly sunny with the temps slowly rising back into the 40's..Trails will be firm this morning and icy in some spots especially in the trees and shaded spots. Be aware of organic material on the trails in the trees and we are continuing to get thin, icy spots in the trees.

The Stonewater Ski Bridge is surrounded by water and the detour is now signed and points to using their Walking Bridge. Rowdy Coyote has a couple of bare spots, along with the BCT through the hitching post at Mountain Springs Lodge and there is a pond starting to form just across the road towards 1000 trails. The best places to ski are in the open meadows near the trailheads and trails up at Osprey Lodge including those that go through the campground have been especially good and skiers have been enjoying the coverage up there.

We are continuing out modified grooming and Ginzu's were out setting fresh skate on The Meadow Loop, Spring Loop, The BCT all the way out to and including the lower Stonewater Loop and detour to the walking bridge, from the other side of the walking bridge all the way out to the northern terminus including the Beaver Creek Loop and Swamp Creek Loop. We are doing the best we can with the weather that we have and are really encouraged to see the skiers still out enjoying the trails. Thank you for your patience and we look forward to getting winter back.

PARKING LOT UPDATE:  Use caution in all lots due to icy conditions. The Meadow Loop Parking Lot was bladed off yesterday, so will hopefully be in better shape, but it will have icy spots, so all wheel drive is highly recommended along with staying to that right side that has gravel underneath.  The Beaver Creek Parking Lot is fairing a bit better, but it is melting and has puddles along with exposed spots starting to show through and will be icy.  Also use caution and stay on the firmer areas.  4wd recommended.  The Osprey Lodge Parking Lot should be a bit better since it is a gravel lot, but will also have icy spots.  All wheel drive is also recommended.

We have unfortunately had to make the tough decision to CANCEL the 1st race of the Tour de Plain this weekend due to safety concerns on parts of the race course.  We apologize for the inconvenience and are still planning to make the rest of the series happen with the hope that we get more snow.  More information about the Tour de Plain Race can be found by clicking the link.

Just a reminder about our Saturday Clinics 10am - 12pm, which are great for all ages and can be customized for skate or classic. It's a great way to learn better technique and the ability to enjoy our sport even more. Information and sign up can be found HERE.

TRAIL PASSES ARE ALL ONLINE and can be purchased HERE, and as always, kids ski free, but they also need an online PASS.
