Grooming Report... 1/19/2026

There will be a brief closure of the BCT this afternoon at Mountain Springs Lodge from 2:50pm - 3:50pm due to a wedding ceremony. Signs will be posted closing the trail and unfortunately there is no detour because of Rowdy Coyote being closed, so please plan accordingly.

SAFETY NOTICE:  DO NOT SKI ON SLEIGH TRAILS at Mountain Springs Lodge.  Please obey the signs and only ski on groomed ski trails.

Another night of temperatures down into the mid 20's and the forecast for today is expected to be very similar to yesterday. While we are still in low snow conditions, most of the trails are holding up under these colder temperatures and the skiing has continued to be surprisingly good, so we hope that you can get out and enjoy it. The best conditions will continue to be in the open meadows around all of the trailheads and when you get into the trees, there is a mixtures of thin/icy areas, organic material and uneven spots. The main areas of concern are Hot Tub Hill, driveway crossings, the Walk-In Trailhead, the far entrance to the Sprint Loop and one small section of the ascent of Grizzly Mtn. Almost all of the BCT (minus Hot Tub Hill and driveway crossings) still has coverage and can be skied in its entirety. We are still using the Stonewater detour to their walking bridge, so be sure to follow the signs.

Pretty much the same grooming plan as for yesterday with the skate lanes being freshened up last night with the SnoCat in the Meadow Loop, the Cut-Offs, and the Sprint Loop, with Ginzu's being used on the rest of the trail system including Grizzly Mtn. The classic is still holding up in most areas and has been left. Because of the cold temps and low coverage, trying to set new classic is difficult and often makes it worse and most areas in the trees are too thin to have any new classic at all. We are doing are best with the snow that we do have and are looking forward to having some new snow with these colder temps, so if anyone knows when that is coming, please let us know.

CLOSED TRAILS now include all of the Mill Hill Complex (Mill Hill, Rowdy Coyote, Chainsaw Ridge, Cougar Run and Lumi Lane) due to trail wide bare spots, icy spots, melt outs and a mud slide. Signs are posted.

All wheel drive is recommended in all of the parking lots, but they are all looking a lot better than they were at the beginning of the week. There are icy spots, so please use caution when walking to the the trails.

Tour de Plain this weekend is CANCELED due to safety concerns on parts of the race course that have low snow coverage.  We apologize for the inconvenience and are still planning to make the rest of the series happen with the hope that we get more snow.  More information about the Tour de Plain Race can be found by clicking the link.

TRAIL PASSES ARE ALL ONLINE and can be purchased HERE, and as always, kids ski free, but they also need an online PASS.
