It's the 2nd day into the New Year and hopefully you are going to keep your streak alive and get out and ski for every day of 2026 that you can. Yesterday felt like being inside of a snow globe as light flurries fell most of the day and with just about an inch falling last night (we'll take whatever we can get) the trails groomed up with some beautiful corduroy.
Last night temperatures got down in to the high 20's and the forecast for today is to jump up into the mid 30's and bring precipitation mostly in the form or rain, but we are going to be hopeful and say it will be a wintry mix and be mostly snow.
All 3 trailheads are OPEN and the only CLOSED trails are still Cougar Run, Chainsaw Ridge and Lumi Lane. Ginzu's were out this morning setting fresh skate on almost all of our open trails and leaving the classic to allow the first skiers to pack that dusting of snow into the tracks, although fresh classic was set on the Meadow Loop and Sprint Loop. Trails are still holding us quite well with the colder temperatures that we've been having and we will see how they continue as the forecast is calling for warmer temps and some rain/wintry mix for the next couple of days.
Best conditions are going to be the open fields around all of the trailheads and in the trees you will still come across some thin and uneven terrain, so use caution in those area. The BCT detour at Stonewater Loop is signed to use their walking bridge, so you can link up the entire Beaver Creek Trail.
Trail passes are all online this year and can be purchased HERE, and and as always, kids ski free, but they also need an online PASS.
On Saturdays, 10am-12pm, we are again offering CLINICS for anyone from Adults to Kids and they are designed for beginners and will focus on either skate or classic. Skiers will work through progressive techniques, with the goal of independently skiing gentle terrain by the end of the clinic. It's a great way to pick up a new sport or a good refresher if it has been awhile.
