Grooming Report... 1/20/2026

Another night of temperatures dropping down into the mid 20's and the forecast for today is looking to be just about the same as yesterday. These cold temperatures are really good for the trails and even though we have not had any new snow for almost 2 weeks, there is some really nice corduroy being produced and where there are still classic tracks, they are holding up quite nicely. The best conditions will still be in the open meadows around each of the trailheads with trails in the trees showing spots that are thin, icy and uneven so use caution if you venture into those areas. The main areas of concern are Hot Tub Hill, driveway crossings, the Walk-In Trailhead, the far entrance to the Sprint Loop and one small section of the ascent of Grizzly Mtn, which are narrow and have bare/icy spots. Almost all of the BCT (minus Hot Tub Hill and driveway crossings) still has coverage and can be skied in its entirety. We are still using the Stonewater detour to their walking bridge, so be sure to follow the signs.

The same weather means the same grooming plan and that means that the SnoCat was out again last night going over the skate lane in the Meadow Loop, the Cut-Offs, and the Sprint Loop, while Ginzu's were setting skate on the BCT all the way out to the northern terminus, Stonewater Loop, Beaver Creek Loop and Swamp Creek Loop. Be aware of the thin, uneven trails in the trees that also have some organic material that is falling, but it's another day to get out and enjoy the snow that we have.

This afternoon 3-5:30pm at the Meadow Loop Parking Lot is our youth ski team practice, so plan accordingly and use one of our other trailheads if you are planing to ski during that time.

CLOSED TRAILS now include all of the Mill Hill Complex (Mill Hill, Rowdy Coyote, Chainsaw Ridge, Cougar Run and Lumi Lane) due to trail wide bare spots, icy spots, melt outs and a mud slide. Signs are posted.

SAFETY NOTICE:  DO NOT SKI ON SLEIGH TRAILS at Mountain Springs Lodge.  Please obey the signs and only ski on groomed ski trails.

All wheel drive is recommended in all of the parking lots, but they are all looking a lot better than they were at the beginning of the week. There are icy spots, so please use caution when walking to the the trails.

TRAIL PASSES ARE ALL ONLINE and can be purchased HERE, and as always, kids ski free, but they also need an online PASS.
