Grooming Report... 1/21/2026

It feels like we are stuck in the movie Groundhog Day and we are reliving the same weather day after day, but at least we are in a cycle of colder temperatures where our trails are mostly holding up. Temperatures got down into the high 20's last night and the forecast is looking like cloudy skies and temps in the low 30's. We are continuing to be in low snow conditions, but there is still some really good skiing to be found especially in the meadows around all 3 trailheads, but use caution if you head into the trees as trails there are thin, firm, uneven and can be icy with some organic material that has fallen. If you are feeling adventurous and wanting to ski the whole BCT, minus the road crossing, some of the driveway crossings, and Hot Tub Hill, you will surprisingly find coverage to ski on the rest of the trail. There are some narrow spots and areas without classic, but it is possible using the walking bridge Detour at Stonewater. (follow the signs)

Grooming happened last night freshening up the skate lanes as the existing classic is mostly holding up and setting new tracks could be challenging in these conditions. The SnoCat was out on the Meadow Loop and the Cut-Off's, while Ginzu's were used on the Sprint Loop, the BCT all the way out to the northern terminus also making a passes on the Stonewater Loop and Beaver Creek Loop.

CLOSED TRAILS now include all of the Mill Hill Complex (Mill Hill, Rowdy Coyote, Chainsaw Ridge, Cougar Run and Lumi Lane) due to trail wide bare spots, icy spots, melt outs and a mud slide. Signs are posted.

SAFETY NOTICE:  DO NOT SKI ON SLEIGH TRAILS at Mountain Springs Lodge.  Please obey the signs and only ski on groomed ski trails.

All wheel drive is recommended in all of the parking lots as they are all holding up pretty well, but there are icy spots, so please use caution when walking to the the trails.

Saturday Clinics 10am - 12pm are great for all ages and can be customized for skate or classic. It's a great way to learn better technique and the ability to enjoy our sport even more. Information and sign up can be found HERE.

TRAIL PASSES ARE ALL ONLINE and can be purchased HERE, and as always, kids ski free, but they also need an online PASS.
