Grooming Report... 1/24/2026

There will be a brief closure of the BCT this afternoon at Mountain Springs Lodge from 3:50pm - 4:50pm due to a wedding ceremony. Signs will be posted closing the trail and unfortunately there is no detour because of Rowdy Coyote being closed, so please plan accordingly.

SAFETY NOTICE:  DO NOT SKI ON SLEIGH TRAILS at Mountain Springs Lodge.  Please obey the signs and only ski on groomed ski trails.

We finally have something new to report, the temperature last night tumbled down to around 10 degrees under clear skies for the first time in around a month. The forecast is still calling for temps in low 30's again and we may get some sunny skies as the day goes on. Trails will be firm and fast this morning and as we've been saying for what seems like the whole season, the best conditions will be in the open meadows around all 3 trailheads. We are doing our best with the lack of snow this season and are just excited to still have snow on the trails for you to get out and enjoy and feel that it is worth your time and effort to come out to ski.

Grooming happened last night freshening up the skate lanes as the existing classic is still mostly holding up and setting new tracks could be challenging in these low snow conditions and may actually make them worse. The SnoCat was out on the Meadow Loop and the Cut-Off's, the BCT out to Mountain Springs Lodge and the Sprint loop, leaving beautiful corduroy, while the Ginzu's were out on the rest of the BCT all the way out to the northern terminus, hitting Stonewater Loop, Beaver Creek Loop, Swamp Creek Loop and Grizzly Mtn. on the way.

The main areas of concern are Hot Tub Hill, driveway crossings, the Walk-In Trailhead, the far entrance to the Sprint Loop and one small section on the ascent of Grizzly Mtn, which are narrow and have bare/icy spots. Trails in the trees will be thin and uneven with the occasional organic material, so use caution. Almost all of the BCT (minus Hot Tub Hill and driveway crossings) still has coverage and can be skied in its entirety. We are still using the Stonewater detour to their walking bridge, so be sure to follow the signs.

CLOSED TRAILS now include all of the Mill Hill Complex (Mill Hill, Rowdy Coyote, Chainsaw Ridge, Cougar Run and Lumi Lane) due to trail wide bare spots, icy spots, melt outs and a mud slide. Signs are posted.

All wheel drive is recommended in all of the parking lots as they are all holding up pretty well, but they are icy, so please use caution when walking to the the trails.

You can still sign up for our Saturday Clinics 10am - 12pm. They are great for all ages and can be customized for skate or classic. It's a great way to learn better technique and the ability to enjoy our sport even more. Information and sign up can be found HERE.

TRAIL PASSES ARE ALL ONLINE and can be purchased HERE, and as always, kids ski free, but they also need an online PASS.
