There will be a brief closure of the BCT at Mountain Springs Lodge from 3:15pm - 4:15pm due to a wedding ceremony. Signs will be posted closing the trail and suggesting the Rowdy Coyote detour.
SAFETY NOTICE: Please stay on groomed ski trails and DO NOT SKI ON THE SLEIGH TRAILS at Mountain Springs Lodge. It is a huge risk for the horses and sleighs.
We are experiencing a slight warming trend and temperatures last night hovered right around freezing with a very light wintry mix of rain and snow this morning. The forecast for today is temperatures in the mid 30's with a chance for some light rain in the afternoon. Ginzu's were out this morning setting doing their best to set fresh skate and a few spots of new classic that was met with mixed results. The conditions made it a bit more difficult to get the same beautiful groom that we have had for the last week and a half, but the trails will be a bit soft and it was a bit challenging on Mill Hill and especially Grizzly Mountain, so use caution in those areas. Overall, we are still dealing with low snow conditions, but there are many areas still offering some good skiing.
All 3 trailheads are OPEN and the only CLOSED trails are Cougar Run, Chainsaw Ridge and Lumi Lane. Best conditions are going to be the open fields around all of the trailheads, but in the trees you will still come across some thin and uneven terrain, so use caution in those areas. The BCT detour at Stonewater Loop is signed to use their walking bridge, so you can link up the entire Beaver Creek Trail.
Trail passes are all online this year and can be purchased HERE, and as always, KIDS SKI FREE, but they also need an online PASS.
Don't forget about our CLINICS on Saturdays, 10am-12pm, we are again offering them for anyone from Adults to Kids and they are designed for beginners and will focus on either skate or classic. Skiers will work through progressive techniques, with the goal of independently skiing gentle terrain by the end of the clinic. It's a great way to pick up a new sport or a good refresher if it has been awhile. Click this link to sign up.
