Grooming Report... 1/4/2026

Well, there's no really good way to sugar coat these conditions, so we'll just tell it like it is. Temperatures didn't quite get down to freezing last night, and with the trails yesterday already feeling a bit soft in the afternoon, trying to groom soft and sticky snow gives very mixed results. It is currently just above freezing and the forecast is calling for a bit of rain/wintry mix and patchy fog with temperatures getting up to the high 30's.

Today could be more of an adventure ski by trying to connect the best areas of the trails. Ginzu's were out last night in an attempt to give the trails as much time as possible to set up before they get skied on and at times it was difficult to cover the tracks of the Grizzly (the quad with tracks that pulls the Ginzu) and when the teeth were dropped to cover those tracks, it would ball up and either take chunks out of the trail, or spill out behind the Ginzu. (All technical grooming issues that you may or may not be interested in). We are still in low snow conditions this winter and will be very optimistic and just be excited that we have snow to ski on at all.

We did our best to set fresh skate on all of our open trails which is everything except Cougar Run, Chainsaw Ridge and Lumi Lane (all in the Meadow Loop forested area), and classic was set in a few area including the Meadow Loop, parts of the BCT and the front of Stonewater Loop. Areas in the trees are getting thin and uneven with areas of organic material starting to fall from the trees onto the trails.

Best conditions are going to be the open fields around all of the trailheads. The BCT detour at Stonewater Loop is signed to use their walking bridge, so you can link up the entire Beaver Creek Trail.

SAFETY NOTICE:  Please only ski on groomed ski trails and DO NOT SKI ON THE SLEIGH TRAILS at Mountain Springs Lodge.  It is a huge risk for the horses and slieghs.

Trail passes are all online this year and can be purchased HERE, and and as always, kids ski free, but they also need an online PASS.
