Patchy fog this morning with the current temperature right around freezing and then partly sunny skies this afternoon with temps climbing up to the high 30's again. A slight dusting of snow fell last night and trails groomed out a bit better than they did for yesterday, but we are still in low snow conditions and are seeing thinner areas in the trees and more uneven trails throughout the system. Be aware of those areas along with more organic material falling from the trees onto the trails. The good news is that it looks like some much needed snow is on the horizon, along with some cooler temperatures at night.
Ginzu's were out last night and this morning doing their best to freshen up the skate lane and setting new classic on the Sprint Loop, Beaver Creek Loop and the BCT from just after the walking bridge at Stonewater, up to the Northern Terminus which did produce some good area including in the campground area of 1000 Trails, which is where the picture came from.
Best conditions are going to be the open fields around all of the trailheads. The BCT detour at Stonewater Loop is signed to use their walking bridge, so you can link up the entire Beaver Creek Trail. CLOSED trails are Cougar Run, Chainsaw Ridge and Lumi Lane (all in the Meadow Loop forested area).
SAFETY NOTICE: Please only ski on groomed ski trails and DO NOT SKI ON THE SLEIGH TRAILS at Mountain Springs Lodge. It is a huge risk for the horses and sleighs.
TRAIL PASSES ARE ALL ONLINE and can be purchased HERE, and and as always, kids ski free, but they also need an online PASS.
