This afternoon is the first day of Ski Team Practice for a majority of our young skiers, so it will be exciting to see them out on the trails around the Meadow Loop area from 3:30pm - 5:30pm Tues. - Thurs. for the next couple of months.
No new snow last night, but temperatures did get down to just below freezing which will help the trails and today's forecast is for them to rise to the mid-30's to go along with the snow starting this morning, which will also be great for the trails. Ginzu's were out again setting fresh skate on almost all of our open trails leaving the classic from yesterday. We are still in low snow conditions so as it has been, conditions in the trees will be thin and there will also be areas of uneven terrain as we need more snow and colder temps to be able to even out our base. Organic material is dropping from trees, so keep an eye out for pine cones, pine needles and small branches. Best conditions continue to be in the open meadows around all of the trailheads.
No more DETOUR over Stonewater Walking Bridge - Grooming passes were made over the bridge at Stonewater, so the BCT can now be connected on its usual path and does not need the detour over the walking bridge. WhooHoooo! This is the first time it has been groomed so it could be a little soft and uneven, but we are thankful to be able to have access back.
Enjoy the skiing this morning and let's hope we get a lot of snow!!
SAFETY NOTICE: Please only ski on groomed ski trails and DO NOT SKI ON THE SLEIGH TRAILS at Mountain Springs Lodge. It is a huge risk for the horses and sleighs.
TRAIL PASSES ARE ALL ONLINE and can be purchased HERE, and and as always, kids ski free, but they also need an online PASS.
