Happy Valentines Day!! The weather must have known it was a special day because we received roughly 1" of fresh snow!! and it looks like we have broken the cold spell with temperatures staying in the high teens last night and it looks like we might even get above freezing today. Enjoy this "heat wave" and a perfect Valentines date is to get out for some great skiing.
The SnoCat made is way around the Meadow Loop Trailhead area, setting fresh skate and classic on just about everything including the Mill Hill Complex, Meadow Loop, the BCT and Sprint Loop while setting fresh skate on Chainsaw Ridge and Cougar Run.
To the north of Mountain Springs Lodge, the Ginzu's went out this morning setting fresh skate on the rest of the Beaver Creek Trail, Stonewater Loop, Swamp Creek Loop, Clear Creek Loop and Grizzly Mountain. Classic was set north of the Beaver Creek Trailhead and it gave mixed results since it was only an inch of snow, but overall is looking pretty good.
Be aware of thin spots on Hot Tub Hill, the Hitching Post area and a few spots between there and Stonewater Loop where the trail goes through the trees. Parking lots are also getting a bit icy so use caution.

A new attraction has been unveiled at the Meadow Loop Trailhead.... The Fairy Forest. Great for kids and families, take a short ski through the trees and keep an eye out for the fairies that are all around. To get there, take a right at the Welcome Hut from the trailhead and follow the signs.
