Roughly an inch of fresh snow fell last night and then changed to rain this morning, but the sun is trying to poke out through the clouds, so there is potential. Temperatures were right around freezing last night and are expected to rise to around 40 today. The snow might be a bit soft and slicky in spots, but don't let that keep you from enjoying another weekend of skiing.
The SnoCat hit everything in the Meadow Loop area setting skate and classic where possible, while the ginzu was out setting fresh skate and classic on all of the trails north of Hot Tub Hill, minus Grizzly Mountain, which just got a skate pass.
Overall the trails are still looking good, but be aware of the thin spots still on Hot Tub Hill and through the Hitching Post Area of Mountain Springs Lodge, where the new snow mainly just stuck to itself and got pulled with the ginzu off of the thin spots.
As the temperatures rise and precipitation comes down, be aware the the parking lots will start to get slushy, so use caution if in a low clearance 2wd vehicle.
Don't forget to check out the Fairy Forest down at the Meadow Loop Trailhead, which is a small jaunt through the trees as you can keep an eye out for the forest dwellers. It's great for kids and families.
