Temperatures last night did get down just below freezing, which should make for some good skiing today. The forecast is calling for some light rain this afternoon as temps rise to the mid 30's, but nothing that should keep you from getting out and enjoying some time outdoors on the trails.
The SnoCat was out setting fresh skate and classic on the Meadow Loop, the Beaver Creek Trail out to Mountain Springs Lodge and just skate on Sprint Loop. Ginzu's were used on the most of the Mill Hill Complex and setting fresh skate on the rest of the BCT all the way out to the Clear Creek Turnaround, hitting Stonewater Loop, Swamp Creek Loop and Grizzy Mountain on the way.
Still be aware of the thin spots on Hot Tub Hill and the Hitching Post Area (snow was added to this area this morning) and other areas in the trees between Mountain Springs Lodge and Stonewater. Chainsaw Ridge also has very thin/exposed areas where it crosses the irrigation canal, use caution.
As the temperatures rise, be aware the the parking lots will start to get slushy, so use caution if in a low clearance 2wd vehicle.
