What a surprise! The forecast says rain and we wake up to about an inch of fresh snow and it's currently still falling. The challenge is that the temperature is hovering above freezing which means that it is a soft, wet snow that is probably going to ski a bit like mashed potatoes, but it is still something to ski on.
The SnoCat set skate and classic on the Meadow Loop, the Beaver Creek Trail out to Mountain Springs Lodge and on Sprint Loop while ginzu's were set fresh skate on most of the Mill Hill Complex, the rest of the BCT all the way out to the Clear Creek Turnaround, setting classic on one side out to the Beaver Creek Trailhead and freshening the skate lane on Stonewater Loop and Swamp Creek Loop.
Still be aware of the thin spots on Hot Tub Hill and the Hitching Post Area and other areas in the trees between Mountain Springs Lodge and Stonewater. The Rowdy Coyote Cutoff has ice and large bare spots.
As the temperatures rise, be aware the the parking lots will start to get slushy, so use caution if in a low clearance 2wd vehicle.
