Grooming Report... 2/25/2026

Our Winter Ski-a-thon yesterday was a ton of fun!! Great job to all of our skiers! Laps were powered by lots of gummy bears, M&M's, jelly beans and loud music. It's not too late to help out and donate, click HERE for more info. Every dollar raised goes directly back into Plain Valley Nordic Team for camps, ski gear, transportation and scholarships!

We are thankful that there is still good skiing to be found out on our trails especially in the areas that are out in the meadows. Temperatures dropped to just below freezing last night, but quickly climbed up to the mid 30's this morning and are expected to hit 40 degrees under partly cloudy skies today. Because the temps dropped quickly last night, there are some areas that are a bit chunky even with multiple passes, so instead of skiing on smooth vanilla ice cream, it's more like skiing on cookies & cream. Don't let that keep you away though. Ginzu's were out last night freshening up the skate lanes on all of the open trails except Grizzly Mtn. Trails were a little too firm to set new classic, but they are holding up on most of the trails. The best conditions are north of the Grizzly Mtn. junction and south of the Swamp Creek Loop, but be aware of the icy areas in the trees.

OPEN TRAILS: Everything north of the creek crossing at Stonewater Loop, except the southern side of Grizzly Mtn.

CAUTION AREAS: Heading south on the BCT just past the Grizzly Mtn. junction down to Swamp Creek includes a narrow ribbon of snow through the trees, a 2 foot wide melt out that has 2 PVC pipes to help fill the gap and just after the road crossing are 2 bare driveway crossings . Swamp Creek Loop is a bit rough, showing some bare spots and Grizzly Mtn is now a 2 way trail with a couple of narrow and exposed areas. Tree wells and thin areas are also icy.

PARKING LOTS:  The OSPREY LODGE TRAILHEAD at the main entrance of Thousand Trails is our last remaining open parking lot.

TRAIL DAY PASSES ARE DISCOUNTED TO $15 and can be purchased HERE, and as always, kids ski free, but they also need an online PASS.
