We might be done with the rain for awhile and the fun fact of the day is that on average, 1" of rain would amount to around 10" of snow if it was cold enough. (Wow, we would have a lot of snow right now!). Temperatures last night did get down below freezing which means that the skiing should be relatively firm and fast this morning before the temps warm up again.
The SnoCat stayed down in the south and set the usual skate and classic on Meadow Loop, the Beaver Creek Trail out to Mountain Springs Lodge, with just skate on Sprint Loop.
Fresh skate and classic was set with the Ginzu on everything north of the Beaver Creek Trailhead with the exception of Grizzly Mountain, which just got skate. Coverage is still looking really good, minus a few tree wells that are starting to get icy. South of the Beaver Creek Trailhead, the BCT got the skate lane freshened up with the Ginzu along with Stonewater Loop, Rowdy Coyote and Mill Hill with the main concerns still being the Rowdy Coyote Cutoff which has ice and large bare spots and the thin spots on Hot Tub Hill and the Hitching Post Area of Mountain Springs Lodge and in the trees between there and Stonewater Loop.
Use caution in the parking lots, they could be icy and micro spikes are recommended. As the temperatures rise, be aware that they will start to get slushy, so use caution if in a low clearance 2wd vehicle.
