Temperatures dropped down to around 30 degrees last night which means that trails should be firm this morning before it jumps up to 50 degrees under sunny skies today.
The ginzu's were out last night setting fresh skate on the Beaver Creek Trail from Hot Tub Hill all the way to the Clear Creek Turnaround, with passes on Stonewater Loop and Clear Creek Loop. Snow was added to the Hitching Post Area which will hopefully get us through the Tour de Plain this weekend, but Hot Tub Hill and the Rowdy Coyote Cutoff are thin and icy, so use caution.
The SnoCat worked the Meadow Loop Trailhead area setting fresh skate and classic (where needed) on the Meadow Loop, BCT out to Mountain Springs Lodge and the Sprint Loop.
Use caution in the parking lots, they could be icy and micro spikes are recommended. As the temperatures rise, be aware that they will start to get slushy, so use caution if in a low clearance 2wd vehicle.
