Grooming Report... 3/2/2025

pvst11

Grooming happened last night before the temperatures dropped to just below freezing, so the trails should be fast again this morning before it warms up into the high 40's under cloudy skies today.

The SnoCat stayed in the Meadow Loop area and groomed skate and classic on most of the Meadow Loop and the Beaver Creek Trail out to Mountain Springs Lodge, while the Ginzu was used on the Meadow Loop Shortcuts, Mill Hill and the Sprint Loop.  (The access to Mill Hill is open even though the app shows that it is closed.)

The Ginzu was also used to freshen the skate lane on the entire trail system north of Mountain Springs Lodge and leaving the classic that was set by the SnoCat from yesterday.  Hot Tub Hill and the Hitching Post Area have trail wide melt outs and icy sections that will need to be walked.  They have not been able to keep up with the warm weather even with trying to farm snow.  Use caution, especially anyone skiing the long course of the Tour de Plain.  Thin and icy spots are showing under the trees, but overall there is still good skiing out there.

Rowdy Coyote, Chainsaw Ridge, Cougar Run and Lumi Lane are currently closed until we get more snow and the Walk in Trailhead has a slight detour into the Sprint Loop area because of a melt out.

Use caution in the parking lots, they could be icy and micro spikes are recommended.  As the temperatures rise, be aware that they will start to get slushy, so use caution if in a low clearance 2wd vehicle.
