Grooming Report... 3/7/2025

*The Beaver Creek Trailhead Parking Lot is closed for the season, please use the Osprey Lodge Trailhead to access the northern trails or the Meadow Loop Trailhead.*

We do still have some good skiing out there on our open trails, so get out there while we still have snow.  Temperatures got down to just below freezing last night and the grooming happened with the Ginzu's just before that happened. Trails should again be firm this morning before it warms up into the high 40's under increasing clouds.

From the Meadow Loop Trailhead, fresh skate was set on the Meadow Loop, the Beaver Creek Trail out to a shortened turnaround before Mountain Springs Lodge and on Sprint Loop.  One set of classic was also attempted with mixed success.  There are some melt outs in the upper parts of the Meadow Loop and some dirt/grass showing in other parts.  Also be aware of the parts that are saturated with water making the large frozen sections.   The Walk in Trailhead has a slight detour into the Sprint Loop area because of a melt out and it is getting very narrow at the far entrance.  We are still trying to make it to the weekend, but will reassess each day.

From the Osprey Lodge Trailhead, skate was set on the BCT from Stonewater Loop to the Clear Creek Turnaround, (which also got one new classic from the Beaver Creek Trailhead north to the Swamp Creek Loop), Swamp Creek Loop and the Clear Creek Loop.  The north side of Grizzly Mtn is now a 2 way trail. Open areas are looking the best, (especially the open areas south of Swamp Creek Loop out to Stonewater Loop) and be aware of some thin icy spots under the trees getting to those open areas.   Driveway crossings are also getting thin.

Closures include the entire Mill Hill complex, the section just before Mountain Springs Lodge to Stonewater Loop and the southern section of Grizzly Mountain, which all have melt out sections and signs posted.

Use caution in the 2 open parking lots, they will be icy and micro spikes are recommended.  The Meadow Loop parking lot is a bit bumpy and the Osprey Lodge parking lot has a large sheet of ice, so please be careful.
