*The Beaver Creek Trailhead Parking Lot is closed for the season, please use the Osprey Lodge Trailhead to access the northern trails or the Meadow Loop Trailhead.*
Temperatures did drop down below freezing last night and the Ginzu's were out before that happened, so the skiing will be nice and firm this morning. It is forecasted to warm up into the high 40's with a very slight chance of rain, but there is still some good skiing out there for you. The best conditions will be in the open areas of our northern trails, especially if you are willing to venture to the Stonewater Loop area.
The Meadow Loop Trailhead is going to stay open for the weekend, but be aware of some thinning, melt out sections. The skate lane was freshened up on the Meadow Loop, the Beaver Creek Trail out to a shortened turnaround before Mountain Springs Lodge and on the Sprint Loop. New classic was not able to be set in this southern section. The Walk in Trailhead has a slight detour into the Sprint Loop area because of a melt out and it is getting very narrow at the far entrance.
The Osprey Lodge Trailhead had fresh skate and classic set on all of the open trails all the way down to the Stonewater Loop. The north side of Grizzly Mountain is now a 2 way trail and just got skate and there are some narrow spots under the trees starting to melt out. The best areas are in the open and to get to those spots, be aware of the thin, icy spots under the trees.
Closures include the entire Mill Hill complex, the section just before Mountain Springs Lodge to Stonewater Loop and the southern section of Grizzly Mountain, which all have melt out sections and signs posted.
Use caution in the 2 open parking lots, they will be icy and micro spikes are recommended. The Meadow Loop parking lot is a bit bumpy and the Osprey Lodge parking lot has a large sheet of ice, so please be careful.
