Good morning skiers! We've warmed up to a balmy 18 degrees at 10:30 AM! The low was negative 1, and yesterdays high was 17. No new snow. This morning we delayed grooming for the safety of our staff, coupled with how well the trails was holding up in this cold weather pattern, that made the decision to delay grooming easy! This morning we are using the large Ginzu to put some pattern down on the snow on the Meadow Loop Trails area. This morning's picture shows conditions on the BCT looking north towards Mt. Springs Lodge.
The skiing yesterday afternoon was really fun and the skate and classic were in almost perfect shape. Low snow at Hot Tub Hill (road crossing is dirty) and the typical icy/no tracks at the Hitching Post (about 80 meters), and then good skiing from there. Watch the driveway crossing just south of the Beaver Creek parking areas as it's getting melted out as well.
This weekend you can enter the Tour de Plain. Check out the details here: https://www.skiplain.com/tourdeplain
You can pick from different distances and race Saturday, Sunday, or Monday! You can even race more than once!
For today, snowshoe trails are open and lots are plowed. Trail passes are required and can be purchased at www.skiplain.com or in person at Plain Hardware. Plain Hardware also offers XC ski and snowshoe rentals.
Have fun out there!
