Grooming Report... 2/12/2026

The snow coverage up around the Osprey Lodge is holding up as the temperatures have been getting down to the high 20's at night which is making the trails pretty firm in the mornings and even a bit icy under the trees, but temps are expected to go up into the 40's again, which should soften the them up a little bit, especially out in the open areas. We have been stuck in this weather pattern for quite awhile now and we are still hoping that we can still get a little bit more winter as there are some changes coming this weekend.

Ginzu's were out again last night grooming the skate lanes on the BCT from the northern terminus down to the Stonewater Loop, making a passes on the Swamp Creek and Beaver Creek Loops on the way. Without fresh snow, the trails have remained too firm to have any success setting new classic, so they do remain firm and icy. Enjoy the sunshine today!

CLOSED TRAILS: We unfortunately had to close all the trails south of Stonewater Loop.

CAUTION AREAS: The BCT detour at Stonewater is getting thinner with more ground being exposed and the upper part of the south Stonewater Loop has a large melt out that is a challenge to get around. Grizzly Mtn. now has 2 trail wide melt outs on the ascent up, but we are keeping it open because there is still snow on the rest of the trail. There is also a 2 foot wide melt out running across the trail north of the road crossing that has PVC pipe down to help fill the gap and the trails north of there to the junction with Grizzly Mtn are very thin.

PARKING LOTS:  The OSPREY LODGE TRAILHEAD is our last remaining access point to the trails. The MEADOW LOOP AND THE BEAVER CREEK parking lots are CLOSED due to muddy conditions.

Just a heads up, the PVNT youth practice is moving up to the Osprey Lodge for their practice today and they will be up there between 3:30-5:30pm.

TOUR de PLAIN UPDATE: Because of the current conditions, we have made the difficult decision to cancel Race #3 this weekend, but we are still planning to have the Race #4 installment as part of the Washington Nordic Cup race on Sunday, Feb.22. Details to come.

TRAIL DAY PASSES ARE DISCOUNTED TO $15 and can be purchased HERE, and as always, kids ski free, but they also need an online PASS.
