Grooming Report... 2/16/2026

We made it to President's Day and still have trails to ski, so we will consider that a success in a winter like this! Temperatures got down to the mid 20's last night, so trails will be firm this morning and there will be icy areas in places, especially the thin areas under the trees. Today is expected to get up to the high 30's under cloudy skies which may soften up the trails in the open areas. The best skiing is going to remain on the BCT from the northern terminus to the Campground Loop and if you are willing to adventure across the road crossing, south of Swamp Creek Loop down to the turnaround before Stonewater Loop also is holding up nicely. The best classic tracks are south of the Osprey Lodge down to the Campground Loop and also south of Swamp Creek Loop.

Ginzu's groomed last night freshening up skate lanes on all of the open trails doing the best they could, but its getting to the point where we are getting mixed results where some areas are nice and smooth and others are a bit chunky, even with multiple passes. There are also many footprints that were too deep to fully groom out. Don't let that keep you away though, ski it while we still have it. Temperatures are forecasted to start getting cooler with a chance for some precipitation as the week goes on, so we are holding out hope.

CLOSED TRAILS: Stonewater Loop lost the battle to melt outs and is now included with all of the trails south of there, along with the southern side of Grizzly Mtn.

CAUTION AREAS: The trees just before the road crossing has just a sliver of snow that can be used to get past them large exposed areas leading to a 2 foot wide melt out that is filled with PVC pipes. Just after the road crossing are 2 bare driveways and Swamp Creek Loop is showing a few more bare spots on the southern parts of the loop. Grizzly Mtn. is now a 2 way trail and there are a couple of narrow and exposed spots.

PARKING LOTS:  The OSPREY LODGE TRAILHEAD at the main entrance of Thousand Trails is our last remaining access point to the trails and has limited parking. The MEADOW LOOP AND THE BEAVER CREEK parking lots are CLOSED due to muddy conditions.

TOUR de PLAIN UPDATE: Because of the current conditions, we made the difficult decision to cancel Race #3 this weekend, but we are still planning to have the Race #4 installment as part of the Washington Nordic Cup race on Sunday, Feb.22. Details to come.

TRAIL DAY PASSES ARE DISCOUNTED TO $15 and can be purchased HERE, and as always, kids ski free, but they also need an online PASS.
