Grooming Report

Thank you to everyone that came out to our Full Moon Community Ski last night hosted by our amazing Plain Valley Adventure Women. It was a really fun event and we are already looking forward to next year! Temperatures last night stayed right around freezing, so grooming happened late last night giving the trails plenty of time to set up and the forecast for today is a chance of showers with temperatures jumping up to 40 degrees. Today should be another great morning to get out on the trails. Temperatures last night dropped down to just below freezing and although we didn't get any new snow, the trails had plenty of time to set up. The forecast today is calling for a little bit of fog in the morning and then partly sunny skies with highs climbing up towards 40. Needless to say, we got the snow that we've been patiently asking for in the form of 10-12 inches on most of the trails, which made for quite the exciting first day of practice yesterday as groomers were scrambling to try to keep up with the snow in the Meadow Loop so that they had something to ski that wasn't up to their knees. This afternoon is the first day of Ski Team Practice for a majority of our young skiers, so it will be exciting to see them out on the trails around the Meadow Loop area from 3:30pm - 5:30pm Tues. - Thurs. for the next couple of months. Patchy fog this morning with the current temperature right around freezing and then partly sunny skies this afternoon with temps climbing up to the high 30's again. A slight dusting of snow fell last night and trails groomed out a bit better than they did for yesterday, but we are still in low snow conditions and are seeing thinner areas in the trees and more uneven trails throughout the system. There will be a brief closure of the BCT at Mountain Springs Lodge from 3:15pm - 4:15pm due to a wedding ceremony. Signs will be posted closing the trail and suggesting the Rowdy Coyote detour.
